Early this week, I was hunting for metal necklaces for spring look, yet I couldn't find ones I liked. I talked to a friend of mine about it the other night. He said he's got 3 metal necklaces he didn't wear. They were for sale, and he would give me "friendly" price for them. I went to take a look, and as soon as I saw them, I decided to take them all!
They were all scandinavian jewelry and quite unique.
This one was designed and created by a Dannish modernist, Jacob Hull. He was popular in 70's, and a lot of his jewelry work was done in that time. This gold-plated piece is certainly pretty. Hoever, it is quite large and loud, about 2.3 inches in diameter, and I haven't come up with proper ways to wear it yet.
Now, this necklace was created by Studio Else & Paul of Norway is 70's. They were known for lost wax casting method thas they were good at creating complex figures. I love this piece. It has nice dissected spiral shell like structure with a turquoise stone in the center. It is eye-chatching yet not so big and loud. Thus I can probablly wear this with any tops.
This piece was aloso done by Studio Else & Paul. It has a sort of iris like complex shape. And this too is a large piece of jewelry (even a bit larger than the first one), yet it is a calm and sophisticated piece. I would like try it on with pullovers.
I've always so attracted to scandinavian jewlries from 60's and 70's. Seems like jewlry designers got inspirations from mother nature, they refined the images, and expressed through the jewelries. Somehow, I can never get tired of looking at them. I'd really love to live in scandinavian countries and see what inspired those designers with my own eyes.
