Lately I have hard time finding necklaces I like. I'd wear anything, mens or ladies, that looks good, but I just can't see the ones I want to wear. Some pieces by super brands are very nice, I just cannot afford $500- dollar-jewelry. So I came to the conclusion that I have to make my own.
I have no experience in jewelry making, so I started with beads jewerly.
This is the first creation made with wood beads and waxed cotton cord. The pendant top was given by a friend of mine. Total cost of this one was less than $5. I wear this often over t-shirts. It looks good enough, and nobody knows how much it costs unless I tell them.
This was made with wood beads and grass beads. Same friend gave me the pendant top. I wanted to make a piece that I could wear around my neck in loops. The lenghth of the chain is 45 inches. It's long enough to loop around my neck for 3 times, and this goes nicely with botton down shirts
I've wanted a necklace with a fat chain, so here itis. It is made with wood beads, grass beads, and bamboo beads. I got the pendant top in NYC some years ago. A grass artist was selling his craetion on the street. When I saw this I fell in love with it and I had to get it.
This piece was just rolled out, so I haven't tried it on with any outfits yet.
Finally, it is the last piece I post in this time. Made with wood beads, grass beads, plastic beads and bone beads. Those charms were buffalo teeth. I've just finished this piece too, so I will wear this later.
So, this is what I have been doing lately. I've had so much fun making all these though I lost time to sleep. I'd like to learn to work with precious metals and jem stones eventually, so that I could make pendant tops with my own design.
Well, I'll see.
